founder's story

Josh Barry, the Founder of Freedom Contractors, joined the US Marine Corps fresh out of high school at the age of 17. He served as an Airframe Mechanic and Work Center Supervisor specializing primarily in F/A-18 Hornet fighter jet maintenance. After his honorable discharge from service in 2014, Josh moved back to Denver to live with his family.

In their Centennial, Colorado home, Josh's father had built a beautiful pergola on the family's flagstone patio. Josh was inspired by the pergola's ability to define a gathering place beneath its Cedar posts and beams. Josh founded Freedom Contractors with the goal of providing quality outdoor construction to families around the Denver Metro area. He is passionate about friendship and fellowship and believes that every home should be a place of comfort and gathering.

In his time away from Freedom Contractors, Josh enjoys competing in Jiu Jitsu and rugby as well as lifting weights, shooting, traveling the world, and spending as much time on the beach as possible.

The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
